I’m back from my first, exciting trip this past weekend to Awesome Con, in Washington DC. As you can see in this photo, my entire convention presence centers on the current TREKKER books, and on calling attention to the next campaign. And I was again immensely gratified with the enthusiasm Trekker received from the attendees.

So, re-energized, I’m back at work finishing the colors on the last section of TREKKER: BATTLEFIELDS and preparing the campaign. Plenty of details to attend to before we launch on May 28– That’s just four weeks from now!

I hope you’ll make a careful note of the date. Because, as many of you know, the first day or two of any Kickstarter campaign are absolutely critical to the chances of ultimate success for the project. Quite simply, if you back a campaign, it’s more likely that someone else will, too. That’s just human nature. Plus, Kickstarter itself notices campaigns that get off to a strong start, and help by featuring those campaigns. That kind of extra attention can make all the difference.

Thanks to the backers of the first two campaigns, we’ve run two stunningly successful Kickstarters so far to bring CHAPELTOWN and THE DARKSTAR ZEPHYR to print, and I’d love to see this third campaign be our biggest and best yet. I’ve poured everything I have into creating the most powerful and moving Trekker story to date, and I’d like to have a campaign to match. So, if you are planning on supporting TREKKER: BATTLEFIELDS at all, I hope you’ll consider pledging early, since that gives us the most bang for your buck. And remember: you can always alter your pledge at any point during the campaign.

As with CHAPELTOWN and THE DARKSTAR ZEPHYR, I am preparing some special surprises, rewards, and the all-important stretch goals to make BATTLEFIELDS as incredible a book as possible. I know that with the help of our amazing Trekker community we can make this happen. So remember: D-Day is May 28. Mark it down.

I’ll be back to remind you all on launch day, with the live link to the campaign. Hope I’ll see you all on the Battlefields.
