The all-new “Train to Avalon Bay” trade paperback hits the bookshelves today– April 16! Featuring additional story pages, a second Trekker feature by Karl Kesel and me, and some amazing pin-ups by a bunch of grand cartoonists from Mark Schultz and Dustin Weaver to Steve Lieber and Ron Chan. Mercy and Molly embark on an ill-fated vacation, and end up fighting for their lives in the blasted wastelands beyond New Gelaph. This is the first of the all-new Trekker stories that I am getting back to after a far too-long absence, and I’m doing all I can to make each story social and to continue to have them all build upon the ones that came before. As far as I’m concerned, the biggest and best is yet to come. Check it out!

Even as this week marks the end of the “Avalon Bay”pages posting to the website, it sees the debut of the story in print– as the Dark Horse TPB makes its appearance at the the Release Party at Bridge City Comics here in Portland. The book comes out officially on April 16th, which just turns the party into a Pre-release event! I’ll be there with advanced copies on hand to sell, sign and sketch in. Come in, say hello, and pick up a shiny new copy of the first of the all-new TREKKER volumes in the works! And speaking of “all-new”, be here next Monday for the launching of Mercy’s next adventure: “Jekka“. While it begins in the shadows of New Gelaph, this time out Mercy gets entangled in events which will take her back into the stars. The tale will profoundly alter the course of her life, expanding her view of the world she moves in, and changing her understanding of who she is. It’s been a tale long in the telling and I can’t wait to begin sharing it with you. Be here!
Excited for the Emerald City Comic Con, this weekend! I’ll be at “Periscope Island”, aka Booth 1214! And I’ve just had some sharp new posters and prints made to debut at the show. And of course– if you havent’ yet picked up the sharp Trekker Omnibus, I will have that on hand as well. Swing by and say hello!
So thrilled to receive my advanced copy of the “Avalon Bay” TPB! The formatting and printing work perfectly to present the story and the extra features just as I’ve wish them to look. This is how I’ve always intended the story to be experienced, and I hope it will work for you as well as it does for me. And on top of that, there are the extra features: A 22-page Trekker/Johnny Zombie cross-over tale by Karl Kesel and me, and a Pin-up section featuring Mercy as interpreted by 16 great comics artists from Mark Schultz and Pete Woods to Steve Lieber and Dustin Weaver. Couldn’t be happier with the way Dark Horse Comics and all the talent involved worked with me to create something this sharp! Out on April 9, or available for pre-order right now at a sweet discount!
Looking forward to the Emerald City Comic Con, blasting its way toward us on March 28-30! Here’s a commission I did in advance of the show. I love to play with watercolor when I get the chance. Still time to hit me up for one or two more before the show.
I’ll also excited to be attending the Denver Comic Con, June 13-15. This will be my first show in Denver– so I’m looking forward to meeting some new Trekker fans and spreading the word about Mercy St. Clair in the Mile High City.
Looking down the road, I’ll also be at the Rose City Comic Con again, on Sept 20-21. Moving into its third year, Rose City is growing by leaps and bounds, and is a great bookend with Emerald City for premiere Comic Cons in the Pacific Northwest, a hotbed for comics creators. Hope to have another appearance or two to announce shortly– but I’m very excited for these three shows. Hope to see you at one!
