I have to agree with Ryan about inserting the “it” so that “I don’t know what takes to be able to do that,” becomes “I don’t know what it takes to be able to do that.” I do know that my mind noted the problem and simply inserted the “it”.

Oh my goodness gracious. Thanks, Odo– I did exactly that– reading right past the “it”, even when reading Ryan’s comment. Boy, that shows how much I need an editor/proof reader, does it not? Just corrected the error and uploaded the revised page. So– thanks again to both you and Ryan from working to get me to see the IT that wasn’t there. Glad you are able to enjoy the story despite the typos and all!

Your line certainly reads more economically, but I’m not sure it gets to quite the one-two combination of ideas I’m going for from panel four to panel five. As I say, I’ll have to consider. Either way– I Do indeed appreciate feedback. It’s never a bad idea to go back and reassess the work!
I think I see the confusion. What he’s saying is that you’re missing the word “it” in the phrase “what it takes”. The sentence should be, “I don’t know what [i]it[/i] takes to be able to do that.”
