Well, I certainly agree that Mercy lacks in a experience in a lot of the dynamics of a true and intimate relationship. I assume when you describe Molly’s intentions here as fishing for a position of dominance you mean in a fleeting, playful sort of way. I think she likes to see if she can get Mercy flustered a bit, to the point that Mercy lets down some of her protective walls. I don’t see Molly’s ultimate intention here as “dominance”, but rather “connection”. But maybe we’re describing the same thing, actually, since getting Mercy to that level of vulnerability and openness might be characterized as momentary “dominance” of a sort– a means to an end.
