“Look around and think”, indeed. That’s why I write the stories– to suggest that very course, and to engage in it myself. Examining the role of violence in a society, its practicality, the costs– social and spiritual, its ultimate effectiveness, and/or lack thereof, coping with it, romanticizing it, demonizing it… all of that, was one of the reasons I created this strip in the first place. The arguments on all sides are, it seems to me, powerful, immediate and subtle. Pretty rich material to explore. I hope to keep it coming, and to tell a few ripping yarns along the way.
