“Smuggler’s Blues” pg 04
I have often remarked that in creating Trekker I showed a profound lack of commercial sense. When Trekker came into being, virtually no one was doing science fiction comics, no one had books with a strong female lead– especially one who was not barring a deal of skin. I mention this now because it strikes me that here, on the first bonifide full-page splash of Trekker’s first full-length story, the lead character doesn’t even appear. So much for my commercial instincts. I can only hope that my storytelling instincts were working well enough that the story, taken as a whole, is a satisfying experience.
Meanwhile, I can at least promise that Mercy will return to her own book directly. Stay tuned!
