Thanks, Ted. I’ve found it to be such a rich joy to develop Mercy and Molly’s relationship through the stories. It’s become a central element to who Mercy is as a character, and has really, for me, galvanized her own personal journey. I’m glad you enjoy seeing these moments as much as I do in creating them.
Just a note to say that I enjoy the comic and hope for it to continue for a long time. The author of Bunny Wiggins has apparently decided to pack it in because he got so few comments on his page, and I don’t to see that happen here since there are similarly few comments compared to other comics.
Thank you Xerxes. I don’t have any plans to stop now. Largely, that’s up to readers continuing to support the crowdfunding campaigns. It’s the only way I can afford to continue making the new stories. And happily– so far so good. I know some (maybe most?) webcomics collect many more comments than Trekker. I’d love to see that traffic and engagement increase, but how to make that happen is both a mystery to me, and something I don’t have a lot of time and energy to put into. I’m plenty busy producing the stories and running the campaigns, which is where the funding comes from that makes this all possible. It’s a full if happy life 🙂
FWIW, I don’t think the amount of comments is the true measure of reader engagement. It is A measure, to be sure, but not THE measure. Sometimes, in a movie theater or a concert hall, stunned silence is just as powerful as thundering applause. Each has it’s place and time.
I could watch panels like this throughout the whole comic. I’m glad they’re allowed plentiful moments like this.

I’m getting a bad feeling about this.
A monster story should have a few moments like that, right?

Hate this crap!
Sorry it doesn’t work for you, Joe. It’s a big part of the series, and of Mercy’s journey. I try to convey it was well as I can.
Luckily, no one is forcing that guy to read the comic, nor has he spent money on it that he has to regret.
You create the story for those who love it; those who don’t lose the bookmark; everybody is happy; no one get’s hurt.
