Seriously though, the intention is for all of these adventures to build and to shape Mercy’s journey. I want each death to serve, a least to that extent, a “purpose” in the story. If it ever feels gratuitous, it will mean I have missed that mark. Though, of course, sometimes that intended import or “meaning” might not be immediately evident.
Me. too! I’m not one of those writers that delights in killing off characters. I tend to like ’em! But, wars have casualties. And I knew going in here that I wanted to get as close to a “war comic” feeling as I could, and that one of the brutal things that wold require is a body count. We’ll have to see just how high that count will rise…
