Ah. Not Jaocbite, but “Jakinite”. Unfortunately close in look and sound, but quite different things! That’s first established when Pell first appears, in the “Chapeltown” story: PAGE 13, to be exact. Jakinites possess a pheromone that has a strong chemical effect on women form earth. It pops up throughout that story, giving Mercy some awkward moments, to say the least. Since Chapeltown and Hand of Kindness are two stories that appear in the same volume, CHAPELTOWN, I hoped the connection would be clear. Tricky when for various and complicated reasons, the “Darkstar Zephyr” story rn between those two here on the website, That’s an awkward situation of its own– one I hope never to have to repeat in the future. Sorry for the confusion!
I’m so glad that is how it comes across. And yes, Mercy isn’t known for her trust and vulnerability. Luckily for us, Molly seems to have a knack for getting Mercy out of that shell. What might yet emerge from that protective coating is, of course, a story yet to tell…

Molly and Mercy are just adorable together. Itβs a rare thing to get Mercy to open up even a little.
