Trekker Pg024
And so concludes the first Trekker story. I breathed a sigh of relief that I found my way through the first chapter, and that I’d been able to incorporate many of the elements that I wanted to establish in Trekker’s world. By now, the word came from Dark Horse that they’d like Trekker to appear in her own title. Right away. So, taking another deep breath, I prepared to jump off the deep end and into crafting a full-length, stand-alone story. I’d learned a lot from these first short chapters, and hoped it’d be enough to carry me through “Trekker #1”–which starts appearing here tomorrow!
And thanks for those of you stopped by my Artist Alley space at the New York Comicon on Thursday. It was great to speak to you and I hope to see more of you through the weekend. I am easily found at the table number that doubles as a great status update: I-8. See you there, and bon appetit.
nice work, ,..lol, I used to buy comics from the guy that created Dark Horse, very tall guy that owned Pegasus Comic book store back in the 80’s in Oregon, Mike somehting or other ,…lol, that guy is awsome
Mike Richardson. Yes– I will always be grateful to Mike for giving me the chance to create Trekker. It’s absolutely the highlight of my career to be able to produce my own series, and it wouldn’t have happened without his enthusiastic support from the very beginning. In other words, yup– that guy is awesome.
Thanks, Steven! This first story was serialized in Dark Horse Presents #’s 4-6 back in 1986. One of the reasons I have for launching trekkercomic.com is that these early stories are hard to track down, and I want it to be easy for people to find Trekker and to follow her story from the first page on. Ultimately, I want also to collect all the tales in a series of print volumes. That’s a little way down the road, but feedback and support like yours is a big step in getting there!
Excellent first chapter! When we’re these stories originally released?
