Oh no. Don’t betray her, Mercy. Please don’t. 🙁
She’s saying what we’re all thinking. What we’re all thinking being “oh no”
Tricky situation if she feels the need to explain this to Molly … she can’t do so in advance. Even an open relationship often remains difficult. Mercy has her very own high standards, and it seems they make “just having some fun” a thing she can’t do, in this case, without remorse. Or does Cactus’ (sorry Pell :D) confession make the decision worse for her because this means more to him?
Beautiful page, great story in and between the lines. 🙂
Thank you, Corbie. You have a great read on Mercy’s inner workings. She is certainly driven by a high set of personal standards. Its when those standards, those expectations of who she “should” be and how the world “should” be, come into conflict with what is actually going on in her world and in herself that we get the most striking story moments, isn’t it? (Which is one of the basic premises of all storytelling, come to think of it.)
